About Me – Dirt Late Model Racing
Most guys like to go home after a long day and sit in front of a TV with a cold one… or two. When Wyoming Service Center closes for the day, you will usually find me inside working on my favorite toy.
The bottom line is that I like cars so much that they are my hobby as well as my livelihood. How many mechanics do you know around Albuquerque that feel that way?
Want to go for a ride in a dirt late model?
This video is taken from inside of a car that was behind me for most of the race. It gives you a great feel for what it’s like running these machines, and there’s a little surprise in the last minute or so.
We’re running a 3/8 mile up at Aztec, New Mexico. The engines in these cars typically push out around 600-800 HP. Average lap times during this race were about 16-17 seconds with an average speed around 80 MPH. It’s kind of hard to see the numbers on my car as I finish in second place, after the camera car behind me gets a little out of shape on the final turn.
I’ll have a camera in my car soon for some more fun!
Sponsors: Dirt Late Model
Racing a dirt late model car like this is not an inexpensive thing. It requires many hours of work building and maintaining the car, as well as a lot of understanding from the rest of the Family!
On the money side, I’d like to thank my many sponsors for helping me enjoy my passion. Without my sponsors, this would be extremely difficult. If you are ever in the need of a service provided by one of my sponsors, please consider them as your first choice.

“I arrived a little early for my appointment yesterday and saw the owner, Alan Bowers, go out of his way to help two different customers save money on their repairs. It makes me feel good when I see a business owner put their customer before them self and do what is genuinely the right thing. I will keep taking my cars to Alan Bowers at Wyoming Service Center for service.”
Let me start by saying that I am a mechanic. I’ve wrenched on cars and motorcycles since I was 8 years old. Sometimes I get busy or just run into a job that I don’t have the energy for. When this happens, I go to the Wyoming Service Center and let Alan handle it. I’ve used Alan for about 20 years now. I go there because he is an excellent mechanic, something that is hard to find these days. He’ll get it right the first time. Whenever I have a friend who needs car repair I always send them to the Wyoming Service Center because I know Alan will do them right!

Excellent general auto repair+service in convenient location. WSC has provided complete maintenance care to my vehicles for a year. In that time, I have had numerous conversations on a myriad of mechanical problems, methods and materials for achieving better automotive performance. Owner Alan Bowers always listens and responds with most practical and economic solution, with full billing explanation and disclosure.
