Dirt Late Model at Aztec, New Mexico
Want to go for a ride in a dirt late model?
This video is taken from inside of a car the in front of me for most of the race. It gives you a great feel for what it’s like running these machines, and there’s a little surprise in the last minute or so.
We’re running a 3/8 mile up at Aztec, New Mexico. The engines in these cars typically push out around 600-800 HP. Average lap times during this race were about 16-17 seconds with an average speed around 80 MPH. It’s kind of hard to see the numbers on my car as I finish in second place, after the camera car in front of my gets a little out of shape on the final turn.
I’ll have a camera in my car soon for some more fun!
Dirt Track Racing is My Hobby!
Most guys like to go home after a long day and sit in front of a TV with a cold one… or two. When Wyoming Service
Center closes for the day, you will usually find me inside working on my favorite toy.
The bottom line is that I like cars so much that they are my hobby as well as my lively hood. How many mechanics do you know around Albuquerque that feel that way?
